Autobiography
I started sailing at 5 socially with my dad and started racing at 12. I sailed a Hobie 14 for a few years and then crewed on a Hobie 16 for many years until eventually becoming a helm myself. I later joined forces with another female helm, Inge Schabort, and together we sailed our first international event at the 1st ISAF (then IYRU) World Event. We sailed a few more local and international events (3rd Dubai H16 Women's worlds) and finally won the 2nd ISAF Worlds in Dubai (1998). I sailed a Spitfire for 2 years and then moved over to the F18. I started off sailing on a Dart Hawk, then a Capricorn, a few times on a Hobie Tiger and now back on a Capricorn with my husband, James.
